Winter League Play Overview
Launch Date: January 2025 until April 2025
Age Groups: for players between the ages of 8-15
Skill Levels: All skill levels welcome
Program Duration: 1 hour per week for 12 weeks minimum
WEEKLY Session Structure:
- Welcome Circle: Group discussion & stretching (dynamic/static)
- Skill Training: Focus on one skill (e.g., shooting, passing, pivoting) and one basketball concept or strategy (e.g., defense on ball or off ball, spacing & moving on offence, etc.)
- Game Play: Two games (10 min. each) versus other teams in the division (4-on-4 or 5-on-5).
Season Layout:
- Week 1: Meet players and coaches; skills training & scrimmage (evaluation).
- Weeks 2-11: Regular season play (20 games total, 2 per session).
- Week 12: Championship Night.
- Week 13 (April 9, 2024): Academy Championship for top 2 teams in Eaglets, Jr & Sr Boys
Registration:
- Select specific evening and time (1 registration equals 1 evening and group).
- Registration fee: $280 plus HST
- Note: Some programs are co-ed; others are specific to boys or girls.
Our Head Coaches are at minimum Learn to Train certified in basketball
Spaces are limited to a maximum of 18 participants in each program
Location: Stary Academy (1587 Cormack Cres., Mississauga - across from Dixie Outlet Mall)
Every player receives an Under Armour jersey and a medal at the conclusion of the season!
